Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress born in Berkeley on the 1st October 1996. She is an actress famous by her roles in Choices (2010), The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2006) and Chrissie Mayr's Content House (2022).
Asia Argento began her career as an actress in Rome. She is part of a family that also comprises of filmmakers. As a young girl, she made her acting debut in Sergio Ciotti's film Sogni e bisogni. In 1988, she played the leading role in Cristina Comencini's first feature film Zoo. Additionally, she was an integral part of Michele Soavi's cast in The Church. In the year following the film, she portrayed Nanni Moritti's baby in Red Wood Pigeon. Her profession took off after she landed the role of Nanni's girl in Close Friends. It was well received at the Cannes International Film Festival. Daria Argento and her mother and one Argento's favorite actors, Daria, played an anorexic teenager who is searching for the murderer of their parents, in Trauma. Asia's absorbed and intense performance style was used to great effect in Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato nozze. She co-starred with Carlo Verdone in Perdiamoci di the view as Arianna the girl with physical handicap. The intricate and challenging part earned her a David di Donatello award for Best actor. In 1995, her work together with Michel Piccoli for Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio won her a David di Donatello, and a Grolla of Oro. Asia began her directing career in 1994 and released two short films and an episode from the film De Generazione. In 1996, she produced an documentary on her father. She also produced AbelAsia which was a documentary about the famous director Abel Ferrara. In 1998, Asia directed AbelAsia, which was awarded at the Rome Film Festival. Asia's feature directing debut was Scarlet Diva where she was the main actress, and also wrote the screenplay. The film debuted in the month of May in Italy as well as the rest of the world. The film was awarded an prize in Brooklyn during the Williamsburg International Film Festival.
